Privacy Policy

VoiceOvya records, transcribes and summarizes your meetings on your Mac. This page describes the data processed by the application and this website, where it goes and the applicable legal basis.

What stays on your Mac

Your recordings, their transcripts, the generated summaries, your notes, your categories and your contacts are stored locally, in the application's own folder. This content is not sent to Inovya. There is no account to create, no identifier, no sync.

When a local AI model processes your content, that content is not sent to online AI services.

What VoiceOvya sends

Anonymous usage and website audience statistics

Service: TelemetryDeck, servers located in the European Union
Data: For the application: technical counters, such as which feature was used, how long a transcription took, which model family answered, the application and macOS versions, and the interface language. For this website: loaded page URL, referring page, campaign parameters when present, country, browser, device type, language, and clicks on the beta signup or updates calls to action. VoiceOvya sends no email address or other user-provided identifier.
Not intentionally collected: Note content, transcripts, audio, contact, participant or category names, search terms, prompt content. The website does not use cookies or fingerprinting.
Framework: The configuration used by VoiceOvya limits TelemetryDeck to usage measurement exclusively on Inovya's behalf, without data matching, cross-app tracking, advertising reuse or data that can identify a person. It therefore meets the CNIL criteria for consent exemption. TelemetryDeck describes its safeguards in its privacy documentation.

Crash reports

Processor: Sentry, servers located in the European Union
Data: Technical information needed for diagnosis, including the crash stack trace, your macOS version, your Mac model and the application version.
Not intentionally collected: Anything from your notes, transcripts or audio. The application is designed and configured to avoid collecting it.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest: fixing defects in the application.

Online AI models, only once you decide

If you turn "online models" on and select Claude (Anthropic) or ChatGPT (OpenAI) with your own API key, the content needed for the request is sent directly from your Mac to the provider you picked. Those exchanges pass through no Inovya server, and we have no access to them. The processing is then governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy, under your own account; both companies are established in the United States. Until you turn that option on, nothing is sent to them.

Model downloads and local runtimes

Downloading a model contacts the service that hosts its files. This operation does not transmit your content. If you configure a local runtime, the application uses the address you provide to send it the content to process.

What we do not do

No advertising, no advertising tracker.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
No profiling, no tracking across apps or websites.
No cookies or advertising tracker on this website.

Retention

Usage statistics and crash reports are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted or aggregated. Data on your Mac stays as long as you keep it.

Your rights

Usage data and technical reports are not intended to identify you. You may exercise the rights applicable to your situation, including access, rectification, erasure, objection and restriction. To exercise them, or for any question: hello@voiceovya.com.

Local data can be viewed, exported and deleted from the application. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL, at www.cnil.fr.

Any change to this policy is published on this page, with its update date. Significant changes are called out in the application's release notes.
